In cases where the object needs to be detected in a closed space, for example in a conveyor section or in a container enclosed by a transparent glass section, it is possible to achieve this with optical sensors.
PowerProx sensor models with IO-Link communication, one of the digital outputs can be set to window mode. In this way, the sensor output does not work on the glass itself, but only on the objects behind the glass in the set range window.

Usage

Perform object detection through glass or other transparent surface; for instance: ✔ Identify objects moving along a closed conveyor line; ✔ Determine the level of closed tanks for various substances

Advantages

✔ The sensor can be installed at a greater distance from the detected object (detection distance up to 3.8m);
✔ Sensor performance is not affected by objects crossing the sensor beam before or after the set range window.

Specification

✔ The SICK PowerProx sensor is connected to an IO-Link Master device, for example IOLA2US-01101, which is then connected to a computer and the configuration program SOPAS.
✔ The operating window can be installed in any range throughout the operating dist
