SICK Reflex Array photoelectric sensor with the 2D light array - multifaceted detection

In combination with a reflector, the Reflex Array MultiTask photoelectric sensor detects leading edges of small, flat, transparent or unevenly formed objects on conveyor belts within its light array. Detection takes place regardless of where and how the objects are positioned on a conveyor belt. Compared to other solutions that involve use of individual photoelectric sensors or small light grids, Reflex Array offers substantial cost benefits.

SICK Reflex Array Sensor Types:

RAY10:

  • 25 mm-high light array, detects objects ≥ 5 mm
  • Sensing range for detection up to max. 1.5 m depending on the type of reflector

RAY26:

  • 55 mm-high light array, three variants, detects objects ≥ 3 mm, ≥ 5 mm or ≥ 10 mm
  • Sensing range for detection up to max. 4.5 m depending on the type of reflector

Technical features:

(RAY10 un RAY26) PinPoint LED - the light array of the Reflex Array MultiTask photoelectric sensor is highly visible. Provides a simple and quick sensor installation and alignment with a reflector.

(RAY10 un RAY26)  BluePilot Technology - During operation, blue LEDs indicate the degree of contamination of the sensor and reflector. This ensures that maintenance or cleaning of the device is scheduled in a timely manner. In addition, using IO-Link communication, sensor status can be sent to the PLC or SCADA system.

(only for RAY26) Conveyor belt blanking enables gradual deactivation of the detection zone (A) right above the conveyor belt. This suppresses the interference of the conveyor belt that causes the sensor to switch during system operation. Conveyor belt blanking is configured via IO-Link.

Detection multifaceted objects:

  • Unevenly formed and shiny objects
  • Smal and flat objects, such as polybags
  • Objects that have different heights
  • Perforated objects
  • Transparent objects
