VIDEO: Invertek Drives frequency drive in Master/Slave connection

This is a simple solution that allows you to simultaneously run up to 64 motors without additional controllers. Invertek Drives frequency drives are able to operate in master-slave mode allowing not only drive other frequency drives at the same speed but also at a speed divided by predifined factor. 

The frequency drives installation shall take place in the following steps:

  • To simplify control system, we should set automatic drive start when the power supply is applied. 
    • In settings enter a value of 201 in parameter P14
    • Enter Auto-5 in first index in parameter P30
  • For the frequency drive who will be used as Master the required control mode is selected in parameter P12. In the video example, we'll use the Uni-directional keypad control. Enter a value 1 in parameter P12.
  • For the frequency drive who will be used as Slave enter a value 9 in parameter P12
  • It is important to set your serial communication address for each slave drive, parameter P36 value needs to be set to 2. (If you use 2 frequency drives as a slave, than other drive value in P36 needs to be 3, etc.)

Important! For the smooth operation of frequency drives, it is important that the values in P03 and P04 are the same. 

In this mode, an additional available function is slave speed scaling. When parameter P35 value is set to 50, slave drive speed will be 2 times less than master drive speed. While setting this parameter, terminals 1 and 2 must be disconnected
